Rack Rental Services
CSCS can provide rack space in our server room to accommodate computing equipment for groups. This allows researchers who have computational needs best met by dedicated hardware to place that hardware in an appropriate location. The CSCS server room is secured, alarmed and comes with redundant cooling along with inert gas fire suppression and UPS facilities. Access to the server room can be arranged for authorised staff by following this procedure and web form.
Rack space is charged for by U, with special rates available for 1/2 and full rack occupancy. All racks in the CSCS server room have a capacity of 40U (42U racks with 2U reserved by CSCS for cable management and networking). All equipment hosted in CSCS racks, whether managed by CSCS or not, is supplied with power, cooling and network connectivity. For unusually high power consumption equipment please contact CSCS to discuss your requirements.
