Minimum requirements
All computers and laptops must comply with the following minimum requirements, which have been put in place ensure that the computers are appropriate for domain use and to prevent very old or very slow computers from being added to the domain. The minimum requirements are also intended to reduce support calls for antiquated hardware. CSCS reserve the right to refuse to add a computer to support if it is deemed unsuitable following an assessment by CSCS staff.
Minimum requirements are primarily used for joining the Computer Support Service. However, if a machine that is below the minimum specification is already on support, we reserve the right to stop supporting it if it becomes to old or problematic.
NOTE: Machines with pre-existing faults (hardware and software including the operating system) cannot be added to support until such faults have been resolved.
