The Clinical School building will be closed from the 18 July 2016 until April 2017, this will include all offices (including CSCS), teaching rooms, student facilities and the library. The Clinical School will be temporarily rehomed in Bay 13 (the part of the old LMB closest to the entrance roundabout) with the exception of the Office of Translational Research and the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit, which will be housed in the old CPE block adjacent to the Clifford Allbutt building.
During the office moves (over the weekends 9th-10th and 16th-17th July) there may be a slower response to CSCS Service Desk incidents and requests, as the CSCS team will be moving along with everyone else, and we expect to have a rash of calls as a result of the move.
During the decant the School will have fewer teaching/meeting rooms with only 5 bookable through Media Studio’s (firstname.lastname@example.org) from the 1 September 2016.
The School will retain the same operating hours for the period of the decant, opening at 7:30am and closing at 10pm (with meetings finishing at 9:30pm). Access to the building will be via the entrance opposite outpatients (disabled access via the Clifford Allbutt Entrance).
The Good News
The refurbished Clinical School building will have an increased number of teaching and meeting rooms, made possible by reconfiguring the whole of Level 4, revamped Library space, an e-learning suite, extended student common room and catering in a reconfigured staff common room. The opportunity is also being taken to update heating and ventilation systems and redecorate.
